Enabling ANT+

Caution: It is NOT recommend anymore enabling ANT+ with a stick or a dongle for CdaCrr app. See there for the reasons.

If your Android smartphone does not have ANT+ capabilities (check with the ANT+ tester app), you can add an external adapter:

I) First, you need to check that your smartphone has USB On-The-Go capabilities. To do that, download an app, for instance USB OTG checker

II)  If the answer is positive, you will connect, as external adapter, thanks to USB OTG cable (this one or thisan ANT USB stick (Garmin or Suunto). The Tacx dongle alone is also a solution (Update 2018/08/19: experienced a lot of data drops and disconnections during rides with the Tacx dongle, so prefer the Garmin one. I never tested the Suunto so can't say).

III) At least, you will need to install on your Android device the ANT Radio, ANT+ Plugins and ANT USB services.

IV) Then, your Android smartphone will be able to receive ANT+ messages from your ANT+ sensors.

I tested the Garmin and Tacx adapters on a Motorola G: it is OK, ANT+ sensors are detected.
